Deep Tissue Laser Therapy

Towards the back of our office, hiding behind a door, sits a hidden gem with the power to heal . We like to call it our “little magic wand.” Our Class IV Lite Cure Deep Tissue Laser Therapy provides almost instant relief and improvement.
What is High Power Deep Tissue Laser Therapy? Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, safe, and effective treatment modality where light is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote wound healing and soft tissue repair. Most therapy lasers on the market today have a power range from 5mw to 500mw, making them a cold laser. Our laser will emit a power range from 1000mw to 10,000mw, making this a high-power heat deep tissue laser that can put an end to your pain!
Here at Wise Chiropractic we have seen and experienced for ourselves the healing power of our laser. We have even had patients refer to their post laser experience as “a miracle.” We have seen open wounds heal within 2 weeks time, bruises fade after 4 treatments, range of motion drastically increased after 1 treatment alone!
When you come into the office for a laser treatment, you will be taken into a private room with one of our Certified LiteForce Deep Tissue Therapists. The therapist will go through a series of questions in regards to activities of daily living, pain-scale review, and range of motion tests to better understand where the pain is stemming from and increase our success rate.
Both parties will then put on safety goggles and begin with the treatment. The laser is a non-invasive pain free therapy. The laser should be warm, NEVER hot. Patients have said the laser “feels like the sun is kissing my skin.” Treatments last between 2 1/2 minutes – 10 minutes and can have lifelong results.
If you are looking for an alternative to prescription medicine or surgery, laser therapy is a great tool for you!

If you came into the office this past Thursday, you may have noticed us running around wearing the silly red noses. NO this isn’t the latest fashion trend, and while it may seem a bit silly we promise its for a good cause.
May 25th is also known as Red Nose DayRed Nose Day is all about having fun while raising money and awareness to help kids in need. The money raised during Red Nose Day “supports projects that ensure kids are safe, healthy, educated, and empowered. Red Nose Day funds programs in all 50 states and in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa.”
We encourage anyone and everyone to donate to this wonderful project. Even if its just $1! And I know you are probably thinking to yourself “What would $1 even do?” Here’s what $1 can do:
$1 can provide ELEVEN meals for hungry children through Feeding America food banks. – Source: Feeding America

When we think of tape and its purpose one of the main things we think about is how it holds things together and keeps them from falling apart. Similar to regular household tape kinesiology tape is engineered to help provide support and stability to muscles and joints while facilitating the body’s natural healing process, without restricting the body’s range of motion. Not only does kinesiology tape provide the support you need, but also helps rehabilitate the affected area.
According to KINESIO® kinesiology tape also has the ability to do the following:
  • re-educate the neuromuscular system
  • reduce pain and inflammation
  • optimize performance
  • prevent injury
  • promote good circulation and healing
  • assist in returning the body to homeostasis
  • accelerate blood flow
  • increase oxygen available to the muscles, which reduces fatigue
  • promotes lymph drainage to remove toxins
The combination of these effects are very powerful and allows athletes to play and train harder for longer periods of time. Here at Wise Chiropractic we offer and highly recommend kinesiology tape to any patient young or old. Ask us about it at your next visit!

Earlier this month we had the wonderful opportunity to participate in Brigadeiro Mount Dora BJJ’s Grand Opening Event.  David and Annie Iturrino are loyal patients and friends of Wise Chiropractic, they own the “only family owned, Christian based Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/MMA Academy in the Golden Triangle area of Lake County.” In addition to the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA classes the academy offers yoga lessons. The local academy offers classes for all ages, men, women and children.
We were so excited to be able to share this special day with them! If you’d like to learn more about their academy and all they do for our community, click the link below!

Hydration Station

The adult human body is made up of 60% water. Can you say WOW? Sixty Percent! Studies have shown that the amount of water we drink has a major effect on our energy level, brain function, and even our appearance. For our body to function to its maximum potential we should be consuming between 8 – 10 glasses of water per day. It’s crazy to think that something as simple as drinking a few glasses of water a day can have all of these effects on our body, and more. Can you believe that 2/3 of American’s don’t drink enough water? Our body NEEDS water, and while the idea of staying hydrated sounds like a simple one, for some of us its a HARD thing to do!  Today, we are going to share with you a few of our favorite tips on how we have successfully increased our water intake and how we plan on staying hydrated during this upcoming blazing HOT Florida summer!  One of our goals at Wise Chiropractic, is to instill healthy habits in our patients, and what better way than to start by drinking more water?

Don’t wait until you are thirsty, you may already be dehydrated! Drink ALL Day.
Buy a super cool water bottle that will help keep you motivated and wanting to drink, drink, drink! (They even sell marked water bottles with either ounces or hours to help you attain your goal.)
Keep water nearby!
Drink and extra glass or water for every glass of juice, or can of soda or alcohol.  If you’re having a hard time adding that extra glass try diluting your drink of choice with ice or water until you can add in that extra glass. πŸ˜‰
While drinking water may not be as flavorful as having a glass of sugary juice or fizzy can of soda, we have a few fun and simple ways to spruce it up!
Add some fruit, honey, and herbs. This is the best and most natural way to add flavor to your water. Adding fruit to your water can not only help with hydration but with a number of other health benefits. A few of our favorites are listed in the bullets below:
  • Cucumber + Lemon – Hydration
  • Orange + Lime + Lemon – Immune Defense
  • Honey + Lemon – Sore throat, Cough, and Infection
  • Cucumber + Mint – Digestion, Headaches, Hydration, and Detox
  • Strawberry + Mint – Digestion and Detox
  • Cucumber + Lemon + Lime – Bloating, Digestion, and Hydration
Add some essential oils. This is the next best way to get that fruity flavor into your water without all the extra unnecessary sugar. (Be sure you use a glass or steel water bottle. If you use a plastic water bottle you will quickly find out that is NOT the way to go as it will eat right through the bottle and spill everywhere! Trust us .. we learned the hard way.) Our favorites are listed below:
  • Lemon
  • Grapefruit
  • Orange
  • Lime
Add some flavor drops. If you choose to go this route, be sure to watch out for the preservatives, artificial colors and sweeteners.
Don’t forget that plain ‘ole water is always best, but flavored water is better than no water! Leave us a comment below and share with us your favorite tips and tricks that help you stay healthy and hydrated.
